SERIOUSLY…..THIS IS THE NEW (Comic)WONDER WOMAN?!!!!!
[see the new TV series costume here]

Should I really be as upset as I am? I don’t read her comic, I haven’t watched the Linda Carter TV show since I was 5, and I don’t generally care about a super hero that flies an invisible jet or thwarts criminals with a lasso. The new design looks practical and somewhat updated, and if it wasn’t wonder woman I might be interested in the book.
I think the thing that bothers me most, is that Wonder Woman is the iconic perfect woman as Superman is the Ideal Man. As a complete nerd my entire basis for what attracts me to women was somehow implanted in my head as a preschooler while watching Wonder Woman on TV. The long flowing black hair, the light eyes, a fantastic figure, and lets face it… a costume that (next to the Leia slave girl) makes a piece of the sexiest nerd lingerie one can find.

These days vampires are whiny lovelorn sparkly creatures that have nothing better to do with their time than woo high school girls with true love and fight hunky werewolves. OK True Blood fans, shut up. I know your argument… “Twilight is for little girls and True Blood is for grown ups”, but its just plain wrong. True Blood is more “Adult Themed” but it is still just a trite societal mirror likening the plight of vampires to homosexual rights in the modern era, pandering to social issues to get an audience.

WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO THE TERRIFYING VAMPIRES; Inhuman creatures that feed upon children and don’t have an overabundance of  emotion and a constant need to “FEEL” things? With Exception of 30 Days of Night, the vampire has been destroyed in media by romance novels and soap operas co-opting the creature of the night as a misunderstood bad boy who can be changed by love. Thank God for Guillermo Del Toro! (more…)

When that sad Sara Mcglocklin song comes on you know its time for heart wrenching images of starving children or battered pets. Every late night television viewer has had their heart strings forcibly yanked by these pandering cryfests, and yet I have to wonder why we’re collecting money for battered pets when there are so many starving children out there. Every year approximately 1 million children experience homelessness, and 110,000 animals are abused in America. (more…)
