The Dead: 4 Seals of Goodness
The Dead is the movie George Romero has been struggling to make since his 1985. Unfortunately his movies seem to have lost their magic since Dawn of the Dead, however they still inspire future generations like the Ford Brothers who take up the mantel with striking success.
The Dead is quite possibly the best ZOMBIE movie I have seen in years. Disregarding the modern “Fast Zombie” model, the Fords return to the stark overwhelming terror of the shambling undead, which only accent the difficulties of traversing the barren landscape of war-torn Africa. I love the return to form for the Zombie, which includes elements of the Voodoo zombies of the 30′s and 40′s, the Romero shooting style, and the exotic environments of the Fulci films.
I highly recommend this film for those of you who are tired of the mindless (no pun intended) zombie flicks of late, who long for the emotionally charged character driven undead films of the yesteryear. read on ahead for a synopsis and the official trailer. Oh and don’t let the crappy marketing poster change fool you, this is not a rip off of the new Dawn of the Dead. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
