BIIIIIG News from Apple. The Microsoft Zune had all of this upon launch, the Zune ID is linked to your windows live Id and is synced already with your computer, and X box 360. So why am I the only one who seems to be bringing this up in the mass media circus of “HEY…..LETS TALK ABOUT PING!!!”? Well unfortunately its Microsoft’s own fault, Apple is at its heart a mass marketing company who knows how to manipulate youth, and Microsoft is a computer nerd company. After the tremendous reviews of the Zune HD you’d think Microsoft would air one or two television commercials, raving about its fantastic features and operating system, and how it is one link in your chain of home entertainment along with the Xbox 360 and Windows 7. BUT NO! Why utilize a fantastic cross selling mechanism to get kids to realize that their video games, music, movies, and computer could all be networked to work with each other creating a tremendous entertainment advantage.

Now with the Windows 7 phone releasing this November, and touted as better than the iphone (I know. I know. We’ve heard that before) who the hell is going to know that Windows 7 Phone is based on the Zune HD Firmware? And Why Windows7 Phone, Why not Zune Phone….it makes more sense. So now with Zune Phone your computer, smart phone, Xbox360, Music Library, and Netflix are all networked together for a MASSIVE range of possibilities. Microsoft needs to put their Xbox 360 marketing people on the rest of the accounts.

How about some cross promotion to let kids and the lay people know about some of your better features. Like an Xbox 360, Zune HD Bundle, or get Windows 7 free with purchase of Xbox 360 slim. Even without advertising the Zune must be doing something because it’s not often that Apple steals ideas from Microsoft and passes them off as their own. But for the love of god ADVERTISE THE ZUNE! Imagine how much better sales and awareness would be if Microsoft would run even an eighth of the commercials Apple does for the iPod. If Microsoft is going to stay in the Mp3 game they have to start getting some name recognition in the general public. When you tell your grandma about an iPod she knows generally what you’re talking about, but you mention a Zune and she thinks you’ve joined a weird cult.

Anyways….PING=Rip-off of Zune Network. But who cares who really needs yet another social networking system. Zune will never be top dog, but maybe that’s a good thing. Maybe the prices on the sweet Zune HD will come down and Ill be able to afford one then. Unless that is Microsoft is so happy with my generalized explanation of their products (as I did it better than their advertising ever has) that they will see it in their heart to send me a free Zune HD with the largest Hard drive possible….you know….something for the effort.

The compromise currently being considered would have the radio stations pay only $100 million (yeah only $100,000,000) to the recording industry — but would also require that all cellular phones include built-in FM radio receivers. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME!!! WHY! WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT? Any decent radio station is already available to be streamed live off of the internet to your phone. Just because you have an FM transmitter doesn’t mean anyone will use it. Case in point: Your Car. I have the choice to listen to FM radio but I choose to listen to CDs My MP3 player or XM radio. If FM radio didn’t suck so much more people might listen.  Rather than adjusting to the times and getting rid of corny safe disc jockeys, and ten song redundant loops they try to force millions of dollars in spending to keep their arcane technology alive. How about you douche bag CEOS utilize the new technology and create listening apps for phones. Problem solved!

This epitomizes the irresponsible greed and stubborn unwillingness to utilize new technology properly, that these Baby Boomer CEO’s have utilized to ruin America’s great chain of industry. This is the perfect example of why many good companies have mandatory retirement dates; if you can’t hook up a DVD player then you shouldn’t have a say in technological matters of your company.  CEO’s like this are what give Capitalism a bad name. If your product is irrelevant it should be allowed to fail, unless you are able to somehow create a demand again. Requiring people to have 8 track players in their homes isn’t going to bring back the 8 track, they’re still going to listen to MP3s, and its the same with putting FM receivers in phones..

Like Peter Jackson’s Halo movie (the one that never was), the Gears of War script Wiseman was using needed a budget of $100 million — and that’s just an estimate. According to Wiseman, the main problem with a GoW movie is the inevitable ‘R’ rating, which would make it less accessible to tweens than say, a PG-13 rating (tell that to the Expendables). On top of that, the Gears script lacked the obligatory awkward love story where the hard outer shell of our hero is melted by a shrew that would make most men run for the hills.

With the Departure of the dead weight,  Cliffy B notes they’re reworking the script to be “more like District 9″ rather than 2012 to fit budgetary restraints and stay true to the violence ridden war story that defines Gears of War. Despite delays, these changes actually sound positive and I personally couldn’t be happier. After seeing the aforementioned Expendables, and Rambo I can only hope that they might offer the Directing position to good old Sly Stallone who really knows how to direct violent battle….Just please don’t let him write the script. I still don’t know what the hell Mickey Rourke was talking about in that movie!!

GENTLEMEN!! I leave it to you. Who deserves the booby prize and why?

In June of this year Battlefield: Bad Company 2 was released and I basically ignored it regardless of how many times Pauly suggested I get it. I generally had no interest and had the miscalculated idea that Battlefield was just a funnier HALO-ish version of COD. I attest this to poor marketing as the commercials for both the original battlefield and this incarnation seemed to focus on goofy antics. I do admit I was wrong.

Battlefield: BC2 is far superior to CODMW2 in every way, from the completely destructible environments to the soldier classes, the map layouts and usable assault vehicles. I can’t quite describe the feel of the game as it is similar to COD but just somehow better…more immersive. You’re actually able to sneak around and flank people. It’s not so much a “run around at full speed, knife someone and run away” game like COD. Also you have the option in multiplayer to put your friends in squads and work together utilizing each others strengths to accomplish missions, pilot tanks and fly Apache helicopters.

Another major difference involves the science of aiming. One must be deadly accurate and account for muzzle kick when firing upon your opponent. In addition you must also calculate for bullet drop; the farther your bullet travels the lower to the ground it will be. So for instance when sniping you must not only lead a running target but also account for distance and aim above the intended target to get a head shot. If there is a tree in the way of your shot….blow that shit up and poof you’ve got a clear shot. This all makes aiming a little more complicated but a hell of a lot more fun. Also Battlefield uses Punk buster so dickheads using wall hacks and aimbots get kicked automatically so you know everyone’s aim is true.

With the fall approaching and winter to follow, you will need something to keep your attention, so go pick up Battlefield: Bad Company 2. If you want to play with the SkullBunnie crew on the PC look for Trumpy the Evil One on Steam! Chances are I wont talk to you  but you never know!

Here is a list of the multi player game modes, all of which are similar to other FPS shooters but with larger maps and more players.

Rush

Players must defend or destroy pairs of M-COM stations until either the attackers run out of respawn tickets or all of the stations are destroyed. Lost tickets can be regained by reviving fallen teammates. An M-COM station can be destroyed by planting a charge, using explosive weapons or ballistics, or simply by demolishing the building in which it is located. Not all M-COM stations exist in destructible buildings, forcing players to use a variety of methods to achieve the same goal.

Conquest

The classic game play of the Battlefield series. Players must capture and defend flags for as long as possible. If a base is taken, it can be recaptured, and the cycle can repeat until the game’s end. Every kill depletes one ticket, and tickets gradually decrease when one team controls more than half of the flags on the map. Vehicles spawn at each captured flag. When one team’s tickets are depleted, that team will lose the game.

Squad Deathmatch

Up to four squads roam the map, and an infantry support vehicle is available for the squad who can capture it. The first squad to score fifty kills wins the match.

Squad Rush

Squad Rush is similar to ordinary Rush, but consists of only two squads, one defending and the other attacking. The maps used for squad rush are smaller versions of those from both the Conquest and Rush modes. There are only 2 M-COM stations in the entire round.

Spencer is reportedly shopping his “library” of XXX Heidi footage to Vivid Entertainment and in one fell swoop has erased every irritating news report about him from my memory and become my personal hero. Lets be honest; I HATE these two, I HATED their show, I hate the fact that the news follows their exploits, and I am sick to death of their inane attempts to stay in the spotlight, but THIS I would watch.
I would in no way be surprised if no real tape exists, but then again I wouldn’t be surprised if there are 30 tapes either. Real or not, one can be sure that this was a carefully calculated plot to steal fame once again and it was always meant to be leaked….Lucky us. Lets just hope this was shot before Heidi came out of the injection molder.

Fox News Ignores Ken Mehlman’s Coming Out, Runs Zero Segments On Story

When Judge Vaughn Walker struck down Proposition 8, Fox News barely mentioned the story and its most prominent conservative commentators ignored it entirely. Yesterday, after the Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder reported that former RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman — who had orchestrated President Bush’s gay-bating 2004 re-election

campaign — was coming out as gay, Fox News remained similarly mum and as of this posting has yet to run a single segment on the story.

A Wonk Room review of Critical Mention reveals that CNN mentioned the name “Mehlman” 19 times, MSNBC reported on it 12 times (searches for “gay” and “Ken” produced similar results, with Fox News stuck at 0):

It’s unclear why Fox News ignored the story, since some Republicans have embraced Mehlman’s coming out. The Wonk Room argues that Fox has a history of ignoring stories that undermine conservative causes.

ALLLLLLRIGHTY THEN….lets deconstruct this. So CNN and MSNBC thought it was so important that a former RNC chairman likes dick that it was mentioned 12-19 times respectively but super conservative FOX news mentioned it ZERO times. SHAME ON FOX NEWS!!! What the hell were they thinking ignoring a mans meat-sicle craving  in favor of reporting on the tanking economy, legislation on immigration, war, and the capture of possible terrorists. CNN and MSNBC would NEVER over-report unimportant news or ignore major political blunders when it served their politics. I swear to god if FOX doesn’t stop ignoring Kim Kardashian I will never go to them for my “news” again. Oh and one little thing….see Fox’s report on Mehlmen here….

Being that the liberal news media is so accepting of other lifestyles why is a homosexual holding a high place in government this newsworthy. It’s only because he is a conservative republican homo-seck-sooal, and they can shove this in the face of republicans who fight against gay marriage. Had this been a liberal coming out, chances are the scenario would be reversed except no one would be surprised or really even care. I can’t say FOX news isn’t ignoring it because of shame, but in my opinion this isn’t news.  CNN and MSNBC are no better and are simply the counter balance to FOX’s lone conservative POV.

How about the news (on both ends of the spectrum) stop advancing their own politics, and squabbling like a bunch of 13 year old girls. How about the News media stops editorializing and starts reporting….tell me what happened don’t tell me how to feel about it. What is going on with the war??? Where the hell is all of our tax money really going??? WHERE THE HELL ARE THE WALTER CRONKITES OF THE WORLD?!!!!

A would-be saboteur arrested today at the Large Hadron Collider in Switzerland made the bizarre claim that he was from the future. Eloi Cole, a strangely dressed young man, said that he had travelled back in time to prevent the LHC from destroying the world.

The LHC successfully collided particles at record force earlier this week, a milestone Mr Cole was attempting to disrupt by stopping supplies of Mountain Dew to the experiment’s vending machines. He also claimed responsibility for the infamous baguette sabotage in November last year.

Mr Cole was seized by Swiss police after CERN security guards spotted him rooting around in bins. He explained that he was looking for fuel for his ‘time machine power unit’, a device that resembled a kitchen blender.

Police said Mr Cole, who was wearing a bow tie and rather too much tweed for his age, would not reveal his country of origin. “Countries do not exist where I am from. The discovery of the Higgs boson led to limitless power, the elimination of poverty and Kit-Kats for everyone. It is a communist chocolate hellhole and I’m here to stop it ever happening.”

This isn’t the first time time-travel has been blamed for mishaps at the LHC. Last year, the Japanese physicist Masao Ninomiya and Danish string-theory pioneer Holger Bech Nielsen put forward the hypothesis that the Higgs boson was so “abhorrent” that it somehow caused a ripple in time that prevented its own discovery.

Professor Brian Cox, a CERN physicist and full-time rock’n'roll TV scientist, was sympathetic to Mr Cole. “Bless him, he sounds harmless enough. At least he didn’t mention bloody black holes.”

Mr Cole was taken to a secure mental health facility in Geneva but later disappeared from his cell. Police are baffled, but not that bothered.
