That right….30 Helens agree that Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny deserves another chance! Jack Black can really annoy me, and the beginning of the downward spiral that is his career can be traced to this movie, but it is  ironically one of his best. Released in 2006 after a huge marketing campaign and an impressive list of cameos signed on,T.D. P.O.D was expected to be a blockbuster hit, but bombed mercilessly.

Tenacious D and the P.O.D. is a comedic rock opera retelling the not so epic origin of the comedic duo  Kyle Gass and Jack Black. They take their meager rise to comedy rock stardom and create an epic tale of  Metal adventure that is entertaining and fun. Don’t get me wrong, it’s no Oscar contender but it’s extremely entertaining, and definitely good for a few laughs. (more…)
