Only a little time  left until you will WANT to get off your ass and get in shape. The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us and you must brave the empty streets to fortify and protect your base from the undead hordes. No I’m serious! Zombies RUN!! is an augmented reality game for your Iphone or Android phone by Six To Start that uses your gps signal and sound cues to immerse you in a post apocalyptic world that lies just under your normal reality.

As you Run you hear hordes of zombies at every corner, and radio transmissions from your base informing you of missions and where you need to run in order to collect virtual supplies for the base.

You’re Runner 5. Hundreds of lives are counting on you. You’ve got to help your base rebuild from the ruins of civilization by collecting critical supplies while avoiding roving zombie hordes. Can you save them?

You receive orders and hear the story told through radio messages and voice recordings between your own custom playlists. Missions last around 20-30 minutes in real time and there’ll be over 30 unique missions in Season 1.

This Game will revolutionize the way you workout and the way video games are created. If you have even a slight imagination, why would you sit on your couch exercising your thumbs when you could really be running from flesh eating ghouls. ZOMBIES RUN! Releases this February and can be pre ordered HERE for 40% off the final cost of the game. I have been waiting for this game for close to 6 months now and I can barely contain myself as its release is almost at hand.

Next-gen Xbox promises six times the power

The next generation Xbox will ship to retailers in 2013 with six times the processing power of the Xbox 360, sources close to the project have told IGN.

Following initial reports from tech blogs Fudzilla and SemiAccurate, IGN’s sources have confirmed that mass production of the system’s graphics processing unit (GPU) will indeed begin by the end of 2012 but will not, however, be based on Advanced Micro Devices’ 7000 series Southern Islands GPU.

Instead, the processor will be derived from the 6000 series, which was introduced last year. More specifically, it will be akin to the Radeon HD 6670, which offers support for Microsoft’s DirectX 11 interface, multi-display output, 3D and 1080p HD output. The chip currently has a market price of upwards of $79.99.

In real terms, the Xbox 720′s raw graphics processing power is expected to be six times that of the Xbox 360 and will yield 20 percent greater performance than Nintendo’s forthcoming console, the Wii U.

Developers are likely to receive development kits based on the system’s final configuration in August and the new console will hit shelves in late October or early November of next year. Projected pricing for the system was not provided.

Game Review:RAGE

Merry Christmas to me, I received a couple of the most hyped games of the past year for Christmas and they didn’t disappoint. My only problem now is finding time to play all of them while still maintaining a full time job and marriage. The First of these games I will review is RAGE.

Rage was hyped for a long time before it came out and unfortunately kinda faded away after its release, (thanks in part to COD:MW3 and Battlefield 3). From the creators of other one named classics such as DOOM and QUAKE, iD Software took their first person shooter base and turned it into a grandiose rpg. The best way to describe RAGE would be to imagine the offspring created from a brutal rape of Fallout3 by Borderlands. The First person shooter controls are almost identical to Fallout with a few tweaks here and there, while adding the third person vehicle play of Borderlands. However unlike Borderlands you are able to customize and upgrade your vehicle with different weapons, drive-trains, and engines, so that you can decide how you deal with the outlandish Mad Max type wasteland gangs. G.O.W3: Raam’s Shadow DLC now available

RAAM’s Shadow is the third installment of downloadable content for Gears of War 3. The pack was released yesterday for 1200 Microsoft Points; if the Gears of War 3 Season Pass has been purchased, RAAM’s Shadow can be downloaded automatically. The pack features a three-hour campaign set prior to the original Gears of War events post-Emergence Day, as Zeta Squad is enlisted to evacuate Ilima City and protect the citizens against a Locust Kryll storm. Zeta Squad consists of fan favorites(Michael Barrick, Minh Young Kim, Tai Kaliso, and Alicia Valera who (with exception of Alicia) are fan favorites from throughout the franchise and can now all be used in multiplayer venues.

“RAAM’s Shadow drops players into taking on the infamous Locust leader from Gears 1, General RAAM and in addition (taking a bit from HALO 2 )you not only control the Gears, but alternately control General Raam in pursuit of taking the city down. As you know RAAM’s is surrounded by an aura of Kryll which acts as a shield for common bullets that is only vulnerable to explosives and fire. RAAM can control  a column of Kryll at targets, which rips them apart like flying piranha. RAAM uses his massive sword in close-quarters combat; he can either swipe it like the Cleaver or charge/impale enemies Retro-Lancer style. RAAM can also perform executions on downed COG by picking them up by the head and decapitating the target. (more…)

Xbox Live on the go For Iphone

This week Microsoft launched its most impressive and streamlined Xbox Live system to date, finally bringing the original vision of the Xbox experience into view. The update includes full Kinect compatibility and a redesign that mimics the new Windows 8 tile based operating system. Many may have already experienced this OS on the Windows 7 phone or first with the Zune (R.I.P). As the newest Microsoft products are released it seems as if they are finally smoothing out the edges and forming a streamlined integrated social experience that can seamlessly interact in the cloud between all devices with one functional operating system.

Along with this redesign of style and substance, Xbox live branches out to Apple products with the MY XBOX LIVE app which allows one to access and edit their live features on the go without having to have a Windows 7 phone. You still cant play your live games via this app but it can’t be far off in my opinion.

Upon Starting the app you sign in with your ID and you are brought to the mobile version of your live homepage. As you can see it is almost identical in style and function to your home live page. You are able to watch all the same featurettes in the spotlight, check your mail, and edit your settings all from this mobile homepage. (more…)

PETA …Your BatShit crazy is showing again.

“Tanooki may be just a suit in the game, but in real life tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur,” PETA’s site states. “By wearing a Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it is OK to wear fur.”

OK seriously PETA? …you just need to go fuck your selves seven ways from Sunday! Why couldn’t Hitler have hated you instead of the Jews. The Jews are a wonderful people who are among the most productive people on the planet….You however are a cult of smelly animal worshiping hippies with no social skills who bash 8 bit fictional cartoon characters for wearing 8 bit fur! Not to mention WHO EVER SAID THE FUCKING SUIT WAS MADE OF REAL FUR!!!! Mario’s Tanooki suit could have been made of 8 bit FELT for all you know!!! If people didn’t believe that PETA members aren’t able to tell the difference between fantasy and reality before they certainly believe it now.  Make sure next week you protest Dr. Robotnic for being mean to Sonic the Hedgehog and all the little forest creatures!

SideNote: The game takes a lot from the evil dead series! Inside jokes and board set up reek of Raimi so be on the look out.....as if the cover of the game didn't give that away?)

Zombies…..Who Doesn’t like zombies? From Twilight creations comes a board game for the avid zombie fan, aptly named ZOMBIES!!! (Seriously how many times can I say zombies in two sentences). The premise is pretty much the same as all things zombie; you play a survivor trying to escape the zombie infested city by escaping to the helicopter. Not only do you move your own piece but every turn you move the zombie horde incrementally closer to your opponents. This board game is pretty innovative as in addition to moving your pieces you build the game board turn by turn as you go. Because of the movable game board every game is different, but there are also add on packs to create new locations that add new rules and strategies.

Now as innovative as “Zombies” is for a board game the games can get REALLY long, and at times it seems that the rules seem to be missing integral pieces of instruction. After numerous games we got bored and stopped playing. But here is where the scant instructions and adaptability of the game turn a negative into a big positive for those who feel like putting in a little work. (more…)

Gears of War 3 is a 5 out of 5!

WOW. Epic has outdone themselves on this one. Gears of War 3 is so well done that it makes Gears of War 2 look like Rush’N Attack on the original NES. Packed with so many new features it’s hard to figure out where to begin. Lets start out simply with the Campaign mode; there are now two different choices, Story Mode and Arcade mode. Story mode is what you’re used to  where you play through the final chapter of the gears trilogy with a longer, more engaging and truly exceptional plot. In fact the story is the best in the trilogy and a fitting end to the series. Arcade mode adds some flavor to the campaign mode by adding what they call mutaters. Mutaters are essentially modifiers very similar to the cheats in the original  Goldeneye64 , where you can add fun things like big head mode, headless chicken mode, and enemy regeneration. This adds hours of fun to the campaign making it incredibly repayable. In addition these mutators can be added to the celebrated Horde mode as well. (more…)
