Did you ever wonder how TV writers make the easiest, most predictable decisions for who to kill off; so as to avoid creating any type of emotion in the viewer what-so-ever? One would think it was as easy as choosing the newest character, add one ten minute bit of pathos and then kill him. Honestly they might as well have made Axel a cop talking about his retirement in two days, or what his grand plans were for after the Zombie war (subsequently showing a photo  that he keeps in his wallet of his sweetheart back in Scranton.) HOW CAN THESE WRITERS MAKE ME DISLIKE THE WALKING DEAD!!!

AxeltviconOn killing Axel, “Now the question is, whose death? To be very honest, I didn’t want to kill off any of the major characters. We obviously didn’t want to kill Rick. Carol was on the chopping block, but I didn’t want to kill Carol, because we have a story coming up with her. We looked at the possibility of killing Beth. I don’t think that actor knows that. You know, I love Emily Kinney. But I felt that would have had too big an impact on the group. It would have just devastated poor Herschel….

WHO THE FUCK IS BETH? OH yeah…her…please make sure not to upset the fictional characters…it might hurt to inject some real feelings back into the show…You know feelings that don’t involve rick being nuts. How about you follow the line in the comic…how about the Governer kills Beth and the Baby!!! That accomplishes everything you were trying to do in a much better manner. Makes the Governer downright Hate-able, and removes two pointless characters and leaves the more interesting Axel for future story lines.

…It would have taken him down a path I didn’t want for the rest of the season. And we were already dealing with Maggie’s feelings about her sexual assault by The Governor,so we didn’t want to complicate that with mourning for her sister…

Ladies …tell me if I’m being too harsh on this one…but Maggie took her shirt off.. Is that really a devastating sexual assault? Yeah it sucks…but she took her shirt off. Maggie seems a little too tough and has been through a little too much  to be haunted by showing off her rack. Second isnt this show about dealing with shit? God forbid we give the characters a little more than they can handle…it would make the characters more interesting…lets just have them argue amongst themselves for a few more episodes.

…We talked about killing Carl in that episode! We really did… unfortunately, you know, by the process of elimination, we got to Axel. Now I like Lew Temple’s performance of Axel very, very much, and we were just starting to find that character and develop him in a way that we loved. And we probably could have had more stories with him. But The Governor was the main character in that piece. We needed to make sure he was not ineffectual.Because otherwise he’s not a bad guy that could possibly take out our guys. So that was really important.

HE was still pretty ineffectual having done nothing to the group dynamic (Should have killed Beth and the Baby), and at this point I think I would rather be with the Governor’s group than Rick’s. The Governor gets shit done, manages his insanity and protects numerous people in a safe haven. He’s doing the same thing as Rick but doing a much better job of it. At this point I kind of hope that the Governer wins, the main party is wiped out and the show becomes primarily about Tyrese. Thanks to the trite wimpy writers.
